What is it?
Dance can be linked to many topics taught through the primary curriculum and support their learning while developing their key physical skills. Examples of previous workshops are Traditional Set Dancing, Africa, Great Britain, Food Glorious Food, Teddy Bears Picnic, Carnival and Space.
We can also create dance pieces for showcases and competitions.
Who is it for?
What will children learn?
What does it look like and what does it cost?
A practical introduction to dance.
An exploration of the topic, taught choreography and creative tasks. Also possible to create a short performance piece.
Half Day Weekly for 6 weeks
Each week the children will learn and create set dance sequences which in time will build into the creation of a dance piece that will be performance ready and fully rehearsed.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed having the Northern Arts Factory working with the children in our school. They have created an amazing piece of dance in such a limited amount of time, we are all incredibly impressed.
The children are keen to engage in the sessions and feel confident and happy when working with Sally. It is clear to see that Sally is able to bring out the creative talents of the children she works with.
With thanks to Sally all of the children are full of confidence, excited and will be more than ready to perform on stage.
We look forward to working with the Northern Arts Factory again in the future.”
