Our aim is not simply to teach or educate. It’s to see children of all ages blossom, learn and shine.  We want to inspire a love of a unique and transformative subject. This goal has been shaped by our own enduring passion for Performing Arts. We hope our school will build the character and talent needed for a successful, exciting future.

What do we offer?

Northern Arts Factory is a hub for Performing Arts for children of all abilities. Our qualified practitioners use their skills to develop students’ natural talents. Whilst high quality teaching is integral to our ethos, we aim to go further and inspire real joy and passion in our subject. We’re dedicated to giving young people the character and confidence to build an exciting future.

We deliver active workshops that enrich the curriculum and can plan bespoke programmes for each school to meet the needs of their students. We promote positive emotional health and well being through practical workshops.

We offer bespoke planning after initial consultation.

Price- £250 Full Day (5 hrs)
£125 – Half Day (2.5 hrs)
Prices are negotiable depending on the need of the school.

All workshops are practical and will need a large space (school hall).

Workshops

The list below are examples of workshops we could deliver but they are not exhaustive.

Once Upon a Time – active literacy, developing reading for understanding (Literacy).

Stronger Together – developing resilience and building confidence through drama and dance (PSHE).

Circle of Life – creating and linking a piece of physical theatre to represent the life cycle of particular humans/animals (Science).

Great Balls of Fire – role-play and improvisation based on fact of The Great Fire of London (History).

Stand Up – exploration of Rosa Parks and Emily Davison through hot seating, role play- creating a monologue (History).

Our Island – Exploring the four countries of the UK and their capital cities through drama (Geography).

Wild World – Creating dance to represent the key aspects of rivers mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes (Geography).

Workshops

The list below are examples of workshops we could deliver but they are not exhaustive.

Arts Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold) – This course can support students studying the Baccalaureate suite of subjects as it is an accredited course that will keep options open to students who may not have the opportunity to study many arts subjects but do not want to leave the arts behind. There is a time commitment to this course and price is negotiable.

Who? Me? – Exploration of self esteem and confidence.

Tough Love – Building resilience by exploring coping strategies to common problems.

You what? – Developing effective communication skills in a world of emojis.

Unstoppable – Developing interview/audition skills and presenting to an audience.

Attitude – Exploring a theme or issue: bullying/racism/homophobia/British values.

Practical Shakespeare – Practical exploration of the key themes and characters focused around key extracts of an examination text.

In a changing landscape resilience is just as important to experienced teachers as it is to those that are new to the profession. We provide high quality active workshops promoting positive emotional health and well being whilst supporting the expectations of the professional standards.

Price- £350 Full Day (5 hrs)
£175 – Half Day (2.5 hrs)
Prices are negotiable depending on the need of the school.

All workshops are practical and allow staff to take part; to create empathy with students. (school hall).

Developing effective communication in the classroom – A practical exploration of the use of voice, body language and facial expressions in the classroom.

Exploring stress triggers and coping strategies – A practical exploration through role-play to understand triggers and create strategies to pre-empt stress reactions.

Using physical activity to combat stress – A practical workshop focusing on relieving stress and promoting physical activity.

Active Learning Toolkit – A variety of successfully proven practical approaches to outstanding learning opportunities. For use in the classroom every day!

Practical Approaches to Shakespeare – Practical activities to explore the key themes and characters. Practical exploration of key extracts to use in the classroom.

Professional Behaviours – Using role play to explore scenarios where professional behaviours are challenged. Analysing case studies and discussing possible outcomes.

Delivering Dance & PE – Practical workshop to empower non specialists to feel confident delivering the practical curriculum
